Members of the Bouchard family have literally grown up with the business. In their teen years, during summer holidays, they began working in the family business, then known as Piscine Bertrand Bouchard.
As the years passed, Mario gained valuable experience, including working as a police officer for the city of Alma. But Mario came to understand that he was not suited to work for someone else – he was, and is, an entrepreneur at heart. With that in mind, he studied to obtain his law degree from the University of Sherbrooke in 1983. In 1986, he began his practice. Nine years later, in 2005, together with his brother Donald, he bought the family business.
Many changes have been made since that time. The name of the company has become AquaMakina. A major expansion has been undertaken, including the addition of a bicycle shop and a line of sportswear.
Mario and Donald’s goal is to ensure the sustainability of the family business by continuing to grow it and diversify.
